Periods to Avoid
Rahu Kalam
A daily period of about 90 minutes ruled by Rahu, traditionally avoided for beginning auspicious activities. Its slot shifts each weekday.
Yamagandam
A daily inauspicious period associated with Yama. New or important undertakings are usually not started during this window.
Kuligai (Gulika)
The period of Gulika, son of Saturn. Generally avoided for new beginnings, though it is considered acceptable for certain remedial and ancestral rites.

We used Pitrukarma ritual services for my dad's 13 day funeral services and all monthly karmas remotely. Its been a very useful and convenient experience.
